URL Schemes
The antinote://x-callback-url actions other apps, scripts and extensions use to create, change, search and delete notes — the same URLs as the Mac.
Updated for iOS 1.65
URL Schemes
Design Intent: Other apps, scripts and extensions can drive Antinote with the same URLs on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
How they work
- Every action is an antinote://x-callback-url/ URL, the same ones the Mac uses, so an automation written for one works on the other. Percent-encode parameter values.
- Add x-success and x-error URLs to hear back. On failure Antinote opens your x-error URL with an error parameter saying what went wrong.
- "Current note" is the note on screen. In split view it's the pane you last typed in.
Actions
- createNote?content=… — a new note, optionally with text.
- appendToCurrent?content=… — adds the text to the end of the current note, after a blank line.
- overwriteCurrent?content=… — replaces the current note's text. Undo brings it back.
- deleteNote?mode=void — sends the current note to The Void; mode=permanent deletes it for good. There's no confirmation. Slotted notes can't be deleted, so a slot is cleared instead: add slot=1–9 to clear one by number.
- promoteAndOpen?noteId=… — opens a note, moving it to the front of the stack. A slot just opens.
- openSlot?number=1 — opens a slot by its number.
- search?searchTerm=…&x-success=… — sends matching notes to your x-success URL as a JSON notes parameter: id, content and lastModified for each.
- timer?command=5 — starts a timer; the command is anything you'd type after "timer" in a note.
- The Mac's togglePin, hotkey and reloadDB have no iPhone meaning and answer with an error.
Allowing deletes
- Any app can open a URL without asking, so deleteNote does nothing until you allow it. Until then it answers with an error and Antinote shows where to turn it on.
