iCloud sync

Notes and preferences sync end-to-end encrypted through your private iCloud database, with no account. Choose which preference groups travel in What syncs.

Updated for iOS 1.65

iCloud sync

Design Intent: Your notes on every device, end-to-end encrypted, with no Antinote account. iCloud is the only server involved.

Notes

  • Settings › Sync & Privacy › Sync notes with iCloud. Notes, checklists and slotted notes sync between your iPhones, iPads and Macs signed into the same Apple Account, encrypted in your private iCloud database.
  • If two devices edit the same note while offline, the other version is kept in a separate conflict note rather than lost.
  • The onboarding notes never sync — each device keeps its own.
  • Sync across devices is part of the Lifetime license.

Preferences

  • Sync preferences with iCloud carries your settings along. What syncs chooses the groups: Note behavior, Appearance, General, Keywords, Math, Timers, Export, Copy and paste, Syntax highlighting, Mac integration, Gestures, Keyboard bar, Dictation and voice, Extension usage history. These choices apply to this device only.
  • Mac-only settings travel between Macs; iOS-only settings between iPhones and iPads. Window positions, API keys, licences and onboarding state never sync.
