Quickbar buttons

What each quickbar button does: special keyboards, text capture and dictation, AI transforms, list operations, formatting, quick access, and the text snippets and quick commands you make yourself.

Quickbar buttons

Design Intent: Every button does one thing and says what it does. None of them opens a menu.

Special keyboards

  • Format keyboard, Math keyboard, Keywords, Timer keyboard, Selection wheel — each replaces the system keyboard; see Special keyboards.
  • Extensions — opens the Extensions sheet. See Extensions.

Special input

  • Capture text — camera, then crop, then the text lands in the note. Capture from image does the same from your photo library. See Text from photos.
  • Dictate — see Dictation. Read aloud — see Read aloud.

Transform text

  • Polish text — rewrites the whole note with your AI provider. Custom prompts — opens your prompts keyboard. See AI features.
  • Spell check — checks the note ("Spelling looks good" when there is nothing to fix).

Organize text

  • Checklist, List, Numbered list, Cycle list type — turn the current lines into that kind of list, or step through the kinds.
  • Indent, Outdent, Move line up, Move line down, Delete line, Go to line start.
  • Move checked items (to the bottom) and Delete checked items.

Format

Quick access

  • Copy, Paste, Select all, Select mode (see Select mode).
  • Find & replace — find only, on a read-only note.
  • Clear note — empties the note after "Clear this note?" (or always, if you chose Always Clear Without Asking).
  • More buttons — toggles the double bar. Swap quickbar — cycles to the next quickbar.

Buttons you make

  • Text snippets — New text snippet in the Quickbar sheet. Give it an icon, the text to insert, whether to press Return afterwards, and optionally a keyword. Making new snippets is part of the Lifetime license; ones you already made keep working.
  • Quick commands — New quick command pins an extension command to the bar. Choose Run immediately or Edit parameters first. See Extensions.
