Markdown and formatting
Headers, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code and code blocks render in place. Apply them from the quickbar or Format keyboard, and clean text on copy and paste.
Updated for iOS 1.65
Markdown and formatting
Design Intent: Plain text that happens to look good. Antinote renders a few Markdown marks in place and never hides them from you.
What renders
#,##,###at the start of a line for headers.**bold**,*italic*,~~strikethrough~~and`code`inline; three backticks on their own lines fence a code block.//at the start of a line is a comment: dimmed, and ignored by keywords and checklists.- Links are highlighted and can be shortened — see Links.
Applying it
- Select text and tap Bold, Italic, Strikethrough or Code on the quickbar or the Format keyboard to wrap it; tap again to unwrap. Header 1–3 set the current line's level; Code block fences the current lines.
- Hardware keyboards get the usual ⌘B, ⌘I and ⌘U, plus ⌘= and ⌘− to resize text and ⌘M to cycle the list type.
Pasting and copying
- Pasted text can be cleaned on the way in: leading spaces, bullets, list numbering, Markdown marks and empty lines are each removable.
- Copying can drop the keyword line, copy checked items as unchecked, and strip hidden list markers.
