Timer

Type timer 5 for a countdown or timer 25 5 for a pomodoro, or use the Timer keyboard and widgets. A full-screen alert and a no-peek streak when it ends.

Updated for iOS 1.65

Timer

Design Intent: A timer you type. No app switch, and the note you were working on is still there when it rings.

Starting a timer

  • Type timer 5 on the first line and press Return for a five-minute countdown. timer 3:30 also works, as does 5:30 typed on its own line.
  • timer 25 5 starts a pomodoro: 25 minutes of work, then a 5-minute break.
  • The Timer keyboard has minute presets, two pomodoro presets (25 · 5, 50 · 10) and Pause, Resume and Stop. The Timer and Start pomo widgets start one from the home screen.

While it runs

  • A pill shows the time left with a Stop timer button (it asks "Stop Timer" first unless you chose Always Stop Without Asking). The Timer widget ticks live on the home and lock screens.
  • When it finishes, a full-screen alert appears. For a pomodoro it shows the break remaining, with Sneak a peek, End Pomodoro and a No-Peek Streak that counts the breaks you left alone.
